Dan asked:
I went mountain biking yesterday, I loved it I did all the trail and obstacles. I am looking for a mountain bike. I am thinking diamondback response series. What do I need for clothing? padded shorts?
Well I am looking for th Diamondback response. Is that a good bike? Should I not get it from a sporting store? like REI?

samjam42 asked: I’m thinking of getting into cycling - probably to start racing. I know there’s loads of racing classes, eg, cyclocross, cross country, enduro, road etc, but I only have enough cash to buy one bike, and I want to get a taste of a mixture of classes before buying specialised bikes.
Can anyone recommend any bikes for around £600 that would allow me to compete in a range of local races eg. cross country, cyclocross, and some other offroad stuff. People have told me to get a hardtail mountain bike, but wouldn’t they be a bit heavy for things like cyclocross?
I know that I would need a specialised bike for national events, but for the time being, I would like something that I could use in a variety of events if possible. Any ideas?
I said ‘a variety’ of things, i mean local cross country offroad type races rather than road races. It’s just that some classes like cyclocross require certain bikes.

My bike has no front shocks, it is a road bike. Should I not go off road biking on trails and stuff with it even if I put offroad tires on it?

My only mountain bike right now is a 06 Kona Kikapu. Because of the Fox Vanilla coil shock it is basically one of the strongest cross country full suspension’s you can have (little heavy of course). I love this bike, but this summer I am trying to improve my jumping game. I want a DJ bike, that I could you know take to Ray’s if I went. I am thinking of either the Mongoose Fireball…the Jamis Kromo (i **** hydraulic tho)….the GT chucker or 2.0 or the Jamis Komodo…which I know is built like a jumper, but has 24 damn gears? Please, any opinions?

I have a mountain bike that has front and rear v-brakes. Is it better to have them looser so that they wont lock-up and cause skidding? Or is it better to have them tight so you can stop faster? THANKS

Monica T asked: I am taking a cruise and Curacao is one of the ports-of-call. We can’t decide whether to mountain bike or kayak. Has anyone been to Curacao to recommend one over the other? Is the view of the shoreline more beautiful than biking through the island? Any other suggestions for a must-see in Curacao?
Thanks.

Danny L asked: I’m a total newbie to serious biking..
I just use my bike to bike around the neighborhood and thats pretty much it.
I have a bike right now but I doubt that its any good.. I got it from my parents a couple of years ago when I was in middle school, but I really want to start mtbiking because it sounds like a lot of fun.
What are the basic techniques that I have to learn?
